Phosphene
Puzzle
Phosphene is the retina reaction from pressure on my closed eyelids. As darkness surges in, flashes of color spread out. Pressures produces patterns cutting through the random colored fields. Increased interest in clarifying the image causes clear cut lines to blur. Retreating from segregation gives freedom to view from a distance. The vista seen from infinity imitates the image of increased depth. Differences diminish as the hues dance together. I open my eyes and the colorful glimmer continues to spin side by side and interconnected. The big puzzle appears whole and I wonder where I fit in.
